The Joy Thieves Bio
The Joy Thieves is an ever-expanding industrial/punk/hard rock collective that includes current, former, and touring members of bands such as Ministry, Revolting Cocks, Pigface, Marilyn Manson, Stabbing Westward, , Nitzer Ebb, KMFDM, Cubanate, The Machines of Loving Grace, Skatenigs, Mary's Window, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, Evil Mothers, Blue October, 16VOLT, 13MG, and more. And while it may be hard to imagine the sound of a band with 40+ members who are spread all across the globe, this musical juggernaut has developed their own unique sound that is surprisingly cohesive.
It’s raw, yet precise.
Combative, but refined.
Dark and aggressive, but topped with triumphantly singable choruses.
It’s a sound that can only be described as being created by all of us. And yet, none of us.
Conceived in late 2017, The Joy Thieves spent a year and a half developing their signature sound before signing with London’s legendary alternative/industrial label, Armalyte Industries in early 2019. Since then, the band has put out four well-received releases on the Armalyte Industries imprint: This Will Kill That, Cities In Dust, A Blue Girl, and Genocide Love Song.
The Joy Thieves are currently working on their eagerly awaited full-length debut album, which is due out in 2021 on Armalyte Industries.
The Joy Thieves.
It is all of us.
It is none of us.
The press says...
“Amazing talents from several Industrial mainstays to ride that line between hard rock and industrial. I once described them as ‘Clutch beating the shit out of Stabbing Westward with a baseball bat.’ I still stand by that.” - Ken Magerman
“It neatly takes me back to the sounds that got me interested in this corner of the musical world in the first place. Everything has been fucked with for the final sound, with electronic wizardry and distortion twisting what would otherwise be a standard rock band into something fucked up and wonderful.” - Adam W
“The Joy Thieves deliver a barrage of aural chaos akin to a more abrasive Dead Kennedys ditty. Then you add Connelly’s unmistakable pipes to the proceedings and conclude the whole thing with this Ministry meets Bile viciousness and you have the recipe for fabulousness.” - Jesse
